What is Liberation?

Liberation is about choice. It is the freedom to choose how you will live your life while discovering what is holding you back from living it…

  • We typically decide to find a therapist because some thing(s) in our life aren’t working. We often show up in a therapist’s office because we want to figure out how to make meaningful changes that feel right for us. Perhaps we are searching for inner and outer peace. Perhaps it’s about repairing relationships or finding relief from the pain that comes with negotiating the challenging parts of our life. Maybe it’s about navigating a major life transition or finding a sense of purpose and meaning. It could be that you are experiencing symptoms related to trauma and are searching for healing…

Whatever the reason, therapy is the deep and sometimes painful journey of growing. It is also a pathway to greater self awareness, transformation, and liberation from pain and suffering. The awesome part about having a therapist is that we don’t need to do the work all on our own. The decision to seek therapy is the decision to walk with a trusted and trained advocate who wants the very best for us and knows that we know how to get there - with a little bit of support along the way.

Liberation therapists are here to support your wellness journey; we are experts at exploring and attending to the spaces within that hold fear, anger, grief, judgement, and shame.

When you understand what’s going on inside and learn to attend to it in caring ways, you are on your path to freedom. That is Liberation.

If this is you right now, and you are looking for an individual therapist, we invite you to book a session with either Jeannette or Grant.

  • Initially, we will focus on understanding your unique history and circumstances to develop a deeper understanding of what brought you to therapy. Next, we will work collaboratively to determine your therapeutic goals. These goals will be the road map that will give us direction for our work. Together, we will get curious about the thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relational patterns that are getting in the way of living life as you want to live it. As we travel, we will focus on building skills, and deepening your inherent strengths, so that you can achieve your goals. We may work with several evidence-based and embodied therapies such as Deep Brain Reorienting, EMDR Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
